My journey
Just like you I’ve spent a lot of time trawling through the internet looking for a therapist who could help me with my numerous issues and quirks. I wasn’t sure which type of therapy I needed but it soon became apparent given my interest and knowledge of the mind and meditation.
I have been a Pilates, Yoga and meditation teacher for 22 years and I have experienced the healing power of the mind from my own meditation practise. Then a friend suggested I try hypnotherapy. I researched the subject extensively; read every book and article I could find and had some sessions with a hypnotherapist. I just knew from this moment on that this was the missing link to help myself and other women, so I studied for my practitioner qualifications and haven’t looked back since.
What I can help you with
I want you to know that you are not alone on this journey. I can help you access your subconscious mind to make those changes you want in your life. I can help you move forward from being stuck to actively moving towards your goals. You will learn that all change starts with you. You just have to know how to access the subconscious mind and give it a clear direction to make the changes that align with your values, beliefs and identity.
You will achieve a real sense of empowerment and determination to live your life to your full potential embodying calm and clarity. I will teach you how you can control what your mind focuses on using meditation, and how to make this a lifetime practice. A practice that will help you live more peacefully and with so much more clam, perspective and happiness!
How I will help you
My approach to any change (in any area of your life) is to meet it with compassion, empathy, kindness and a sense of humour! It’s important that we don’t beat ourselves up about the state we are in at the time, because you act on how you feel. When we are kind to ourselves (as we would be with a friend) and we can look at ourselves with less seriousness, we change the state we are in to one that feels lighter. And it is from here, change occurs.
Depending on what you want to work on, I will use techniques from hypnotherapy, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and meditation. Learning to access the powerful subconscious mind is key. Why? Because 93% of our behaviour is automatic subconscious programming. In order to change a habit or behaviour it must be changed on a subconscious level. This is important because behaviour dictates how you feel and how you feel determines your thoughts. Your thoughts are largely determined by your beliefs which, contrary to popular belief (excuse the pun) CAN be changed!
What most people don’t know about the subconscious mind is its role is to protect you and keep you safe, so this part of your mind always has a positive intention. The subconscious mind does not however factor in quality of life which accounts for all the anxiety, OCD, insomnia, phobias and other conditions we suffer.
